ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING OF FULL GEOMETRY REVEALED SOLID SHIMS BY REVERSE ENGINEERING

The method of turning a digitally planned thing into a physical one by layering on material is called additive manufacturing. Compared to conventional production techniques, the additive manufacturing approach has several benefits. Among these advantages are cost savings, more design freedom for manufacturers and designers, accelerated prototyping, and increased suitability for small-scale manufacturing. This paper presents a thorough analysis of the most current developments and successes in the field of various additive manufacturing techniques. Additionally, their uses in a variety of sectors are covered, including the biomedical, automotive, aerospace, and prototyping areas. It was once restricted to prototype or small-scale product manufacture. Since 2009, the field of additive manufacturing technology has advanced incredibly quickly, opening up new avenues for technical applications across a wide range of industries. Many creative research have made it possible to try novel materials for various production processes, which give knowledge about certain materials for important utilization purposes. When it comes to creating a product model and getting it ready for production, reverse engineering is quite important. One may argue that there is still room for the additive manufacturing method to build high-quality, complicated components with high levels of performance and precision out of a range of materials, even multimaterials.
