BORON EFFECT ON THE STRUCTURAL AND PHOTOLUMINESCENCE PROPERTIES OF LIZNPO4:EU3+ PHOSPHOR

The crystal structure with different cationic sites and the superiority of allowing doping make TTB (tetragonal tungsten bronze) structures very interesting in terms of exhibiting different physical properties. The incorporation of europium activator into the different cationic (Sr, Ba, Pb) tunnel structures of TTB crystal with TaO6 octahedral exhibited interesting structural and optical properties. The effect boron of the structural and photoluminescence properties was investigated by xEu3+, yB3+ (x=3 mol%, y= 0, 5, 15, and 30, mol%) co-doped LiZnPO4:Eu3+ ceramics fabricated by solid state reaction at 950 °C for 3 hrs. Structural and luminescence properties of the ceramic powder samples were investigated by X–ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and photoluminescence (PL) analyses. XRD results of Eu3+, B3+ co-doped samples showed that the single-phase structure was preserved, while SEM micrographs revealed an increase in grain growth due to the flow effect of boron. In PL analysis, the doping of boron up to 30 mol% led to an increase in emission intensity. The emission spectra of LiZnPO4:Eu3+ phosphors were observed in the orange-red spectral region with 5D0→7F1 and 5D0→7F2, 5D0→7F3, and 5D0→7F4 transitions, respectively. ORCID NO: 0000-0003-0052-6187
