Concrete as a building material is very important in earthquake resistant building design. Concrete strength directly affects the behavior of reinforced concrete structural elements. With the developing technology, the production of special concretes of different qualities and their use in buildings are very popular areas. In particular, fiber reinforced composites as materials have been preferred in special structures and critical structural elements and reinforcement works in recent years. In this study, the material properties of SIFCON (Slurry Infiltrated Fiber Concrete) and SIMCON (Slurry Infiltrated Mat Concrete) concretes as building materials and the behavior of the building elements produced using these concretes were investigated. In the use of composite concretes in reinforced concrete elements, it has been observed that the positive contribution to the values such as energy consumption capacities and ductility of the elements has been observed. Also, this special concrete increases the shear strength of the elements in reinforced concrete elements and details where shear stresses are present, and it has been suggested that it can be preferred in sections where shear reinforcement detailing is difficult. The use of these composites in reinforcement works and their effects on the performance of the structure have been revealed. In addition, the example of reinforcement application of fibrous concrete for reinforced concrete structures was also included in the study, and the experimental study was presented.
